Discount Bathroom Vanities Are the Vanities for Me

As much as I would want to be, I am no King Midas. Everything I touch unfortunately does not miraculously transform into gold. Instead, I have to go through my life, constantly saving and pinching copper pieces so that I could afford anything. Being a student living on her own, this is especially difficult because I have stacking loans to worry about. Imagine my surprise when I found out that there are discount bathroom vanities for the picking. This is perfect because my single bathroom vanity has seen better days and its cabinet doors are warped beyond repair. Hey, I’m poor.

I decided that searching online would be the best option. Although I won’t be able to physically touch it, there are precise dimensions and information about the materials used. I ultimately found the single bathroom vanity of my dreams at Premiere Vanities, an online web store that has a great selection of all things bathroom vanities. At only $1,349.00 it is 600 hundred dollars off of the original retail price. Imagine saving nearly a month’s worth of rent! I was shocked too. Dwelving further, I see that it is actually a really beautiful piece. Normally, when I see things on sale I have been trained to assume that they are at clearance for a reason. Either the hinge is shoddy or the color is an ungodly shade of avocado green, but they are almost always defected. With this particular product at Premiere Vanities, I could see nothing wrong. The natural oak base vanity cabinets coupled with the cream marble countertop was looked super elegant. To think that I would pay for a discount bathroom vanity and still make all my monthly payments made me a very happy camper.

Reface Your Bathroom Cabinets

Bathroom cabinets are one of the most overlooked features in your bathroom when remodeling or refacing but this is rather surprising because cabinetry is one of the most heavily used and influencing quality about a bathroom. If you have bathroom cabinets that are torn and warped or simply old-fashioned, it can affect the whole look of the space. Even if you have brand new sinks and mirror fixtures, those cabinets are still going to bring the appearance down. You should therefore look into changing it up a bit. Refurbishing here, replacing there. You will never be so pleased as you will be when you are done.

Alot of us have had the experience of losing things in the bathroom that was caused by poor cabinetry design. Sometimes, we are even forced to put things that normally belong in the bathroom cabinet elsewhere because there simply enough storage space. By replacing your bathroom cabinets, you will ensure that these things never happen again.

Before you start dismantling your cabinets, decide whether you want them custom built, ready-made, classic wood or smooth oak. There are just such a wide variety of options for you to decide upon. Custom built bathroom cabinets may be an expensive choice because you will have to pay for both the work done in your home (unless you want to do it yourself) as well as the cabinets being built specially in the shop. There is always a price to pay for being special. On the other hand, you can purchase bathroom furniture that are all ready and sitting in hardware stores to be purchased. While you won’t have the benefit of getting the cabinetry designed specifically for the look of your bathroom, you’d be surprised with how well some models will match the fixtures you already have.

If your bathroom linen cabinets are made out of an antique and fragile wood material, you may not want to completely scrap it. You can refinish or reface them, for less than the cost of replacement, and have them look just as new. The good thing about antique wood is that it can stand the test of time, aesthetically. All you have to do is help it stand the test of time, physically. In addition, you may improve the value of your home when you keep unique vintage pieces in good condition.

Double Bathroom Vanities For Two

Oh me, oh my! I have a husband! This past weekend, the love of my life and I consecrated our union in an official ceremony. We are so estatic that we barely had time to furnish our new home… which we will share! I can’t believe I’m going to be living in a three-bedroom house with my new husband whom I love to love. The first thing we have to worry about is the bathroom space. We haven’t bought any fixtures yet but I am pretty sure that we want to get a discount double bathroom vanity for the master bedroom. I mean, it would only make sense right?

Well, the trouble wasn’t what we wanted but where to get it. In my mind, I had a vision of the perfect options for the double bathroom vanities. One would be contemporary model with two raised sink basins and sleek oak cabinets. The other would be an antique double vanity with an ornate white finish. I knew that the quest for these double bathroom vanities would not be difficult even with my precise requirements. On a friend’s suggestion, I went to a web site called Premiere Vanities where they carry all kinds of bathroom vanities in all makes and sizes. Immediately, I was able to find my first contemporary bathroom vanity. Called the "Double Porcelain Sink Vanity", it had everything that I wanted. Fully equipped with the above-counter porcelain sinks and sturdy oak base, this was my vision realized.

One down, two to go. After I found my contemporary double bathroom vanity, I went on the search for the antique model. Not long after sifting through some vanities that were too big or too small, I found the beauty that is known as the "Double Birch Vanity with Antique White Finish". The vanity is accented with elegant, intricate detailing all around the base and the frame of the mirror. The mirrors themselves are separate– further creating that independent but cohesive style of double bathroom vanities. We are currently awaiting the delivery of our brand new bathroom furnishings and I couldn’t be more excited. Now, my husband and I will have two distinct spaces to prepare in the morning.

Single Bathroom Vanities For One

As I go through my daily routine, I am constantly reminded of the solitary life that I lead. At 7 AM sharp, I wake up and get out of my small twin bed. I walk to my closet-sized bathroom, take my toothbrush out of the cup where there is only one hole for my one toothbrush. I brush my teeth above my single bathroom vanity that was made just for one person–that person being me, of course. As I splash my face with water, I grip the sides of the granite countertop to my black single bathroom vanity, look at the bags under my eyes and wonder, "How did I ever get to be the loneliest number?"

I go out into the kitchen and put two pieces of toast in the toaster–one for me and the other …for me. I turn on the stove to heat up the pan where I will crack a single egg over it. Once it is finished, I sit down to eat my breakfast at the simple kitchen table with two seats. The extra seat, I use as a stool where I stretch and put my legs on. I open up the New York Times and read an article about the oldest man alive–he has lived 110 years by himself in a shack in the Amazon without the luxury of bathroom furniture. "Amazing Amazon-Man Lives to His 110th Birthday" reads the headline. In the story, he jokes, "I probably only made it this far because I was a stubborn recluse and that is fine by me". I thought, if this man can live in a shack on the hills of some dingy rainforest in the Amazon by himself and be happy, I should be too.

Single bathroom vanities can technically accomodate more than one person but in my life, there is only me. With further contemplation, I start to realize that the whole world of single bathroom vanities symbolize more than just my separateness from other people–it is also an emblem of my rugged independence. In this wasteland called life–single or otherwise, only I will be there when I die where there is the peace and quiet I am so used to.

Traditional Versus Contemporary Bathroom Vanities

The war between the old and the new is one that has been waged over and over again in different contexts and settings. One of the less bitter but still difficult contention is between traditional and contemporary bathroom vanities. It may seem a trivial matter but the style of vanity really does matter to the appearance of your home.

You can find bathroom vanities of every color, size and time-inspired aesthetic. The one style that is resoundingly traditional is the built-in, wooden bathroom vanity. Found in many homes built before the 50s, these kinds of bathroom vanities are normally easy to find in stores. You will find rows of stock bathroom vanities that are ready to take home and bolt against the wall. The only real choice you have to make is regarding size and countertop make. The only problem you might find with the traditional bathroom vanity is that it’s difficult to move the base and countertop to get to the water lines.

In that case, you may want to choose the new, often free-standing modern vanity. These streamlined designed bathroom vanities are great for the adventurous type. Many modern models come with their sink basins raised above the countertop and a chic mirror above. Contemporary bathroom vanity cabinets find their pride in their sleek and sophisticated style. All the edges are straight and the drawers are industrial looking. With contemporary bathroom vanities, you have a greater license for creativity. Because the nature of modern decor, you don’t even have to have it match the aesthetics of the home and it would be all right.
