Lowes Vanities Lose Against Premiere Vanities

I decided to do an experiment over the weekend. The war between commercial hardware stores and their online counterparts has never seemed so tense and bitterly conflicted. As a person who has just discovered online stores after being loyal to Lowes for over ten years, this battle between two different ways to do business was definitely inevitable. Here are some topics that I used to measure them up:

Round 1: Price
I went to Lowes this weekend to check out their bathroom vanities and my first requirement was price. The price tag of most of their bathroom vanities were moderate to cheap. I found a single bathroom vanity for only $200.  At Premiere Vanities, they ran upwards of around  $1,500 dollars. Lowes Wins.

Round 2: Quality
I discovered that the reason the Lowes vanities were so inexpensive is due to the fact that they are shoddily constructed. The hardwood looked outmoded and even in the store, the cabinet doors were flimsy. The drawers didn’t even fit in their slots correctly. Who built and assembled these units? Unattentive toddlers with no hands? What I hated most was the fact that they didn’t carry any double sink vanities! The double bathroom vanities are absolutely necessary in my household so I was dissapointed that they didn’t carry any.

On the other side of the ring, Premiere Vanities has the best selection of double bathroom vanities. They’re also elegant and beautiful to boot. They only use the best kind of wood and most of the ones I looked at are kiln-dried and properly dried. A lot of the antique ones had incredible details and accents. What I really enjoyed were their varieties of contemporary vanities because they are the epitome of sleek and modern. I imagined it fitting well in my home, next to my new jetted shower.  Premiere Vanities Wins.

Round 3: Customer Service
I like that Lowes has a service desk with customer service reps available in the case you have questions about your order. What I don’t like, however, is the fact that because they are a commercial company with many stores throughout the country, they are always busy. At least this seems to be the only reason I can explain their rude service. When I asked a simple question about the quality of the Lowes vanities, the man I spoke to gave me quite an attitude. Conversely, when I spoke to a representative at Premiere Vanities, she was exceedingly nice and helpful. She even shaved off a hundred dollars off the already affordable price! I don’t really think there is a contest in this war at all. Premiere Vanities Wins All.

Ways to Green Your Bathroom

People have said that I am naïve. As a young person, I just think that I have a lot of faith in the world. I think that we can save the environment by doing our part. We may not be able to reverse the irreparable damage that has been done but we can certainly prevent any further destruction. I belong to a group called the “Young Green Advocates of the World” and we go around our communities to try to convince people just how dire it is to conserve energy and live eco-friendly lifestyles.

We’re all assigned aspects of the daily routine that we can look to improve. Right now, my aim is the bathroom space. The bathroom is a place that is a relatively hassle-free transformation. You don’t have to change much to make your bathroom routine green.

The first and easiest thing you can do is to buy organic product. There are varieties of shampoos, body washes, toothpastes and other bathroom products that are all organic. By purchasing organic, you are ensuring that the things you are using on a daily basis were created using best practices. Another thing you can do is by opting for recyclable or renewable materials. Things such as bamboo or Vetrazzo are recyclable and can be returned back to nature. If you buy a bathroom vanity from Premiere Vanities that is made out of a green sustainable substance, you are contributing positively to the maintaining a natural world.

Install shower and sink faucets that are energy efficient. There are a lot of models of low-flow showerheads that can cut your water consumption by nearly a half while still being able to keep you clean. If you want your lights to reflect an environmental consciousness, you can buy compact flourescent light bulbs. Finally, the best thing you can do to show that you care about the earth you inhabit is by living it everyday. Show that philosophy in every aspect of your daily routine and it will eventually become natural.

I Need Big Bathroom Cabinets

I have a serious problem. I am what they call a “pack rat”. That means that I may end up on the news one day with the headline “Young Woman Found Stuck In Home With Too Much Stuff”. I wouldn’t be able to escape past the doors of my house because I’d simply have too many iof my beloved possessions trapping me in. I am the first to admit it: I am a compulsive hoarder.

I recognize that it’s not natural to have 1,646 different kinds of tea pots. Or that I keep all the airline napkins that I have ever gotten. It’s an issue I’m trying to deal with. In the meantime, I just need a more reasonable storage solution. My bathroom was moderately sized when I moved into my house but now it’s been almost completely eclipsed by various towels, mouthwash bottles, razors, and empty shampoo bottles.

I decided that I need larger bathroom cabinets to accommodate all of my things. I can shuffle a large chunk of the less valuable items underneath the sink and into the spacious bathroom cabinets. I went online to find my bathroom cabinets and discovered a couple of really great ones from Premiere Vanities. They have bathroom vanities of all sizes and with their easily navigational site, I was able to find the one that I need and desire. It’s a 65 inch vanity with huge bathroom cabinets. If I wanted to, I could fit in there comfortably. I will get help for my pack rat tendencies but until then, these gargantuan bathroom cabinets will suffice just fine.

Why Bathroom Vanities From Premiere Vanities Are Better Than Home Depot

I know, I know. “Them’s fightin’ words!” I do have a good reason that I will explain to you in the proceeding entry.

You see, I used to be a Home Depot junkie too. I mean, practically everything in my home had the “Home Depot” logo on it. The reason I really frequented this place so much was because it’s only about ten miles from my home. I know that convenience shouldn’t be the motive to spend thousands of dollars but as a busy father, I simply don’t have time to stray from well-established habits. Eventually, I learned that Home Depot wasn’t as infallible as I had thought. It all started when I purchased a couple wooden single bathroom vanities.

The wood bathroom vanity that I bought was fine when I bought it. About two months into it, the cabinet doors came apart. Two months! I fixed it and moved on. No big deal. Then later, I heard from a friend who worked at Home Depot that their wood products come from old growth forests. I am by no means a “tree hugger” but I do feel that we should all do our part to be eco-conscious. The fact the wood on my vanity was obtained from a primary forest made me blow my top. I knew that this once symbiotic relationship between me and Home Depot was officially over.

Soon after, I went online and decided to find a vanity that way. Even if it would take some time to arrive at my door, I knew I did not want to physically enter a hardware store for awhile. The wound was too fresh.  There was no way I was going to resort to having vanities Home Depot style.

I found this online store called Premiere Vanities that sells all kinds of bathroom vanities large and small. When I spoke to their customer rep—who, by the way, is the nicest person I have ever spoken to—she told me that they had a new line of environmentally friendly “green” vanities. The best part about it is that they are all so affordable! I placed my order right then and there. I have had my Premiere Vanities wood vanity for 5 years now and I am not one bit afraid that the cabinets will break off on me.

Brave Vanities Bathroom Remodel

I keep looking at my outdated bathroom and wondering exactly where I can start to improve on it. There’s the broken toilet, the flowery laminate floor, the ugly yellow acrylic counter tops and cracked bathtub…there’s simply too much wrong with this room! I don’t know where to begin.

After looking at some how-to books and home design magazines, I set out to remodel my bathroom. Apparently, according to all of the sources, it’s prudent to start with the vanity. Since the vanity tends to be the focal point of any bathroom, by purchasing or building your vanity first, you can create an aesthetic around it. This makes it relatively easy to decide upon other fixtures in the bathroom when you have a central inspiration to establish from.

I went to a site called Premiere Vanities on the counsel of a friend and I was amazed to find all the options they have available. From single bathroom vanities with one sink to ornately accented antique bathroom vanities, I actually had a lot of trouble choosing a unit for my new idea of a vanities bathroom. Finally, I decided that because of all the years of having an unfortunate old-fashioned looking space, I really needed a dramatic transformation.

The only aesthetic I think that can offset the outmoded appearance of my bathroom is something completely oppositional to the gaudy 70s wallpaper that I have going on right now. After much contemplation, I’m pretty sure I want to go with the Chic Black Single Vanity. It’s unique in that it is entirely mounted on the wall. It almost appears as if it’s floating! I love how sleek the whole set is. Now, all I have to do is to find decor that will complement the modern style. I’m so excited to start my vanities bathroom remodel!
